REDFOX: One with the Earth

RedFox has established itself as the leader in the Philippine IT industry for over two decades. But it has recently proven that it is more than just a provider of affordable technological innovations. RedFox is also more than willing to support a greater cause: the protection and welfare of our planet.

As part of its efforts to contribute to a cleaner and greener environment, RedFox sponsored the 2011 Miss Earth beauty pageant in Tarlac, Capitol Plaza last November 23 and 24, 2011. With this year's pageant geared towards protecting the environment, RedFox provided the judges with the necessary energy-conserving hardware to determine the winner of the Long Gown Competition, where the winner would also be named Miss RedFox.

 

After all 30 candidates made their way out, a winner finally emerged. This year's winner of the Long Gown Competition and Miss RedFox was none other than Miss Venezuela. For winning the competition, she received her very own RedFox All-in-One PC, which acts both as a PC and TV to allow less energy consumption.

To show her appreciation, Miss Venezuela, along with the other candidates, graced RedFox's Dona Hemady office with her presence last November 26, 2011 for an elegant dinner and some photo sessions. However, RedFox's involvement with Miss Earth does not end there. It will also be sponsoring the much-awaited coronation night on December 3, 2011 in UP Diliman.

RedFox has always been synonymous with computers and other advancements in technology. But when our planet is in jeopardy, RedFox can and will be one with the Earth.

REDFOX Goes Green

Computers have become an important part in our daily lives. We need computers for performing tasks more efficiently and for entertainment purposes. But our dependence on computers has led us to ignore something far more vital: our environment. Nowadays, we spend countless hours in front of our computers that we have forgotten our high energy consumption's negative environmental effects. Our computer usage has benefitted us in the short run, but has hurt us in the long run.

However, RedFox has what it takes to allow us to enjoy the privilege of using a computer without jeopardizing our environment. In line with its environmentalism, RedFox sponsored the 2011 Miss Earth beauty pageant held in Tarlac from November 23 to 24, 2011. With “The Earth is Crying. Let the Earth Smile Again” as this year's theme for the pageant, RedFox showed that it can have the Earth and us smiling in no time.

It presented its environment-friendly products like the Wizpad, All-in-one PC, and Multi-Learner Station, with all three geared towards energy conservation. The Wizpad does not need a physical keyboard, while the All-in-one PC also acts as a TV, allowing users to surf the internet and watch their favorite programs without having to open an actual TV. Meanwhile, the Multi-Learner Station lets multiple users do their tasks, play games, or download movies using a single computer.

RedFox will always be colored red. But when it comes to serious issues like the welfare of our environment, RedFox can easily go green.

Double Innovation: Red Fox Takes Part of Philippine E-book Extravaganza with New Product

Last Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Celebrity Sports Plaza, Flipside Publishing Services launched its online e-bookstore, Flipreads.com. This was a welcome development for Philippine society considering the cost of e-books in sites like Amazon and the lack of Filipino-titled e-books.

Unlike other sites, Flipreads allows free distribution of e-books. It is also very culture-friendly, currently housing over 70 Filipino books. Its e-books come in ePUB format or screen-optimized PDF e-book form, making them readable on any device or computer running Android, Microsoft Windows, or Mac OS.

Also present during the event was Red Fox, represented by its Marketing team. Just like Flipside, Red Fox also had something in store for the audience. It demonstrated the capabilities of its new product which has yet to come out of the market and tentatively named the Android Tablet by using it to present some of the e-books from Flipreads. By doing so, Red Fox showed its support for the proliferation of e-books in the country.

The date 11/11/11 is a date to be remembered . More than its three 11's, the date 11/11/11 will be remembered because of the double innovation that happened in the area of Philippine technology.
