Everything
in excess is bad for anyone. Technology may have contributed a lot to the
development of mankind, but it has also created a lot of problems.
With the rise of various innovations,
people are becoming more and more dependent on machines to the point of living
and dying by their gadgets. A student who always uses his computer to write
notes is rendered helpless one the computer experiences glitches that cause it
to shut down for a long period of time. Because he doesn’t have a copy of his
notes in a notebook or a piece of paper, the student can’t study unless his
computer is repaired.
Just as it has made people perform
more efficiently in their tasks, technology has also hindered productivity.
Instead of working on their reports and reviewing for their exams, employees
and students waste a lot of precious time surfing the internet and watching
television. As a result, they tend to forget their responsibilities.
Technology is not evil. It just has to
be used wisely. People have to find the right balance in utilizing their
gadgets. If they don’t, then it might be impossible to find the antidote to
this unhealthy technological overdose.
